July 30, 2020: A shower of heavy rain since the night caused artificial flood in many areas of Guwahati, the gateway of the Northeast on Thursday morning.

Many low-lying areas of Chandmari, RG Barooah Road, Wireless, Survey, GS Road etc were under knee-deep water. The residents of these areas had to face problems due to the artificial flood caused by water logging.

The office goers and people coming for other activities had a tough time because of the waterlogged roads. However, the water receded after the rain stopped, bringing respite for the public.

The GMC has recently procured a robot for cleaning the drains of the city. This is expected to keep the city drains clean and free from water logging.
