June 10, 2020: Two Oil India Limited firefighters have lost their lives in the massive oil well blow out at Baghjan in Tinsukia as team of experts continues clearing out operation. One firefighter is still missing.



A NDRF team recovered the bodies of the firefighters on Wednesday from a wetland near the oil well that exploded on Tuesday. The two firefighters, Durlov Gogoi and Tikheswar Gohain were on duty during the explosion and had been missing since then.

The Oil well has been leaking gas and oil for the past two weeks and has badly damaged flora and fauna of the area including properties of the families living nearby.



Experts believe it may be take another 3 to 4 weeks to extinguish the fire and complete the operation.
