September 20, 2023: Film director SS Rajamouli announced that he will make a biopic on Father of the Indian Cinema Dadasaheb Phalke. The name of the movie is ‘Made In India’.



Made In India will be directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya and Varun Gupta.



The news came to light after SS Rajamouli shared a teaser on X. He said, “When I first heard the narration, it moved me emotionally like nothing else. Making a biopic is tough in itself, but conceiving one about the FATHER OF INDIAN CINEMA is even more challenging. Our boys are ready and up for it”.





Dhundiraj Govind Phalke popularly known as Dadasaheb Phalke was an Indian Producer, Director, and Screenwriter. His debut film, Raja Harishchandra, was the first Indian movie released in 1913, and is now known as India's first full-length feature film.



The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's highest award in the field of cinema. It is presented annually at the National Film Awards ceremony by the Directorate of Film Festivals, an organisation set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
