February 13, 2024: In a recent development, Assam Police has arrested two smugglers and seized fake gold in the shape of a boat and biscuits in Lakhimpur district on Monday night.

Reportedly, the fake gold was seized during a search operation carried out by Bongalmora Police in different places. Police have seized three boat shaped gold weighing about 8 kg and around eight biscuits weight about 2 to 3 kg each.

As per report, the two arrested smugglers have been identified as Babul Hussain and Safikul Islam. Police have also recovered some mobile phones from the smugglers.
