Imphal: Teams of the Indian Army, paramilitary forces, and Manipur Police arrested 12 individuals linked to various militant groups.
The operation, which took place over the past 24 hours, resulted in the seizure of firearms, ammunition, explosives, and incriminating documents.
The arrested individuals, aged between 24 and 53, were members of four underground militant groups reportedly involved in extortion activities in the region. These groups include the banned KCP (PWG), KCP (Taibanganba), KYKL, and Prepak (Progressive).
Among the seized items were a 7.65 mm pistol with a magazine containing three rounds of ammunition, and 45 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition for AK and SLR rifles. A BAOFENG handheld set and 12 mobile phones were also confiscated as communication devices. Additionally, documents including KCP (PWG) receipt books, tax challans, and ID cards were seized. Furthermore, two vehicles were confiscated in the operation.
