Delhi's Water Minister Atishi has been hospitalized at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital after her health deteriorated during an indefinite hunger strike

JUNE 25, 2024: Atishi has been on an indefinite hunger strike since the last four days claiming that Haryana is not releasing Delhi's share of water.

Delhi's Water Minister Atishi has been hospitalized at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital after her health deteriorated during an indefinite hunger strike. The minister began the strike on June 22, demanding that the Haryana government release 100 million gallons per day (MGD) of water owed to Delhi.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) reports that Atishi's blood pressure and sugar levels have dangerously dropped, prompting medical advice for hospital admission. Despite her worsening condition, Atishi vows to continue her protest until Haryana opens the gates of the Hathnikund Barrage to alleviate the water crisis affecting 28 lakh Delhiites.
