Guwahati: Two youths who were allegedly riding a scooter in a reckless way crashed and were severely injured near the Jalukbari area of Guwahati, Assam on Saturday.

As per reports, the accident unfolded on National Highway 27 in Jalukbari, right in front of Hotel Radisson Blu.

The injured were identified as Ritu Kumar and Mintu Pal.

They were allegedly riding their scooter in a reckless manner, endangering themselves and others on the busy highway.

Eyewitnesses report that the duo was attempting high-risk 'stunts' on their scooter when they lost control, leading to a severe collision. Both young men sustained critical injuries in the crash and were immediately rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for emergency treatment. Their condition remains critical, according to hospital sources.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, with preliminary findings suggesting that the accident was a direct result of the riders’ reckless behavior and stunt attempts on a public highway.
