July 25, 2021: Six-time World champion M.C. Mary Kom will be leading India’s challenge in the women’s flight weight section (51). The 38-year-old will be gunning for a second Olympic medal after winning bronze at the 2012 London Games.



World No.3 will be looking to upgrade her Olympic medal with Gold/ Silver as it could be her last chance to win another medal at the Olympics.



Notably, she had failed to qualify for Rio Games thus she would be eyeing to make the best use of the opportunity. In 2018, she became first female boxer to win six gold medals at world championships.





Miguelina Hernandez Garcia, on the other hand, will be looking to win her first Olympic medal. She was named Junior Female Boxer of the Year by Dominican Boxing Federation in 2017 and won bronze at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
