JULY 31, 2024 -  The body of a 30-year-old man from Meghalaya was discovered in a hotel room in the Paltan Bazar area of Guwahati today. The deceased, identified as Sunny Nongrum from Mawpun near Golflinks, was found lifeless in a room at Hotel Tibet.

Hotel authorities informed the Paltan Bazar police, who promptly arrived at the scene. Initial investigations suggest that the youth may have succumbed to an overdose of a substance, as a container and syringe were found in the room.

Sunny Nongrum had checked into the hotel on July 27. The police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. The body has been sent to Guwahati Medical College for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
