Three Veteran Burglars and Bike Lifters Apprehended in Basistha

January 22, 2025: In a major breakthrough, Basistha Police successfully apprehended three seasoned burglars, who were also involved in bike lifting, from the Sunkuchi area earlier today. The arrested individuals, identified as Bikash Daimary alias Saruba (24), Bikash Boro alias Don (20), and Rakesh Boro alias Nigro (23), are residents of the Basistha locality in Kamrup (Metro).

The operation led to the recovery of several stolen items and tools suspected to have been used in their criminal activities. Among the seized items were a large iron cutter machine, a welding machine, copper cables, electric wires, and a small rod cutter. The police suspect these tools played a crucial role in the gang’s illegal operations, which targeted both homes and vehicles in the area.

The accused are being interrogated to uncover the full extent of their criminal network and any other thefts they may have been involved in. Assam Police has been working diligently to curb such activities, and today’s arrests highlight their commitment to maintaining law and order in the city.

Residents are urged to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity to the authorities to assist in further safeguarding the community. The police assure the public that measures are being intensified to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
