October 26, 2024: A 23-year-old man tragically lost his life after being electrocuted while sleeping next to a live wire used to charge his mobile phone. The incident occurred on the night of October 25, when Maloth Anil, a resident of Kamareddy district, extended the charging wire to his bedside before going to sleep.
According to local police, Anil was found in critical condition after he inadvertently came into contact with the live wire during the night. Emergency responders rushed him to a nearby private hospital, but due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to a government facility for advanced treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.
Anil, who had been married for three years, is survived by his wife and their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. The community is in shock over the incident, and authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the electrocution.
This incident is part of a troubling trend in the region, with recent reports of electrocutions highlighting ongoing safety concerns. Just days prior, a 40-year-old man in Khammam district died after accidentally placing the rod of an electric heater under his arm while heating water for his pet dog. Another man, G Naresh, also lost his life after being electrocuted while charging his mobile phone.
