Terrorist Threat to PM Modi’s Aircraft: Mumbai Police Launches Investigation

February 12, 2025: The Mumbai Police received a terror threat regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aircraft just two days before his scheduled departure for France and the United States. The alarming call, received at the Mumbai Police Control Room, claimed that terrorists were planning to attack the Prime Minister’s plane.

Authorities immediately took action, informing the concerned security agencies and launching an investigation to assess the credibility of the threat. "On February 11, a call was received at Mumbai Police Control Room warning that terrorists may attack PM Modi's aircraft as he was leaving on an official visit abroad. Considering the serious nature of the information, the Police informed other agencies and began an investigation," read a statement issued by the Mumbai Police.

Despite the threat, PM Modi proceeded with his international visit. He arrived in France on Tuesday (IST) to a warm reception from the Indian diaspora. During his stay, he met French President Emmanuel Macron and co-chaired the AI Action Summit and the 14th India-France CEOs Forum in Paris.

Security agencies continue to probe the call's origin and verify its authenticity, ensuring that all necessary precautions are taken for the Prime Minister’s safety. Further details are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
