The Punjab Government on Monday informed that the suspension of internet services has been extended till Tuesday noon

March 20, 2023: Amid the search operation to nab "Waris Punjab De" Chief Amritpal Singh, the Punjab Government on Monday informed that the suspension of internet services has been extended till Tuesday noon (March 21).

Amritpal Singh Sandhu is a self-styled Indian Khalistani and a fugitive from Punjab. He returned from Dubai to India to become the leader of the organisation “Waris Panjab De” after the death of its previous leader Deep Sidhu in a car accident but his position is disputed. He is alleged to have many links to Pakistan's intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence and terror groups.

Punjab Police launched a crackdown against the chief on March 18. Many people have been arrested and detained. However, Amritpal is reportedly absconding.

Earlier a day, four ‘suspects’ people who are close aide of Amritpal Singh had been brought to Assam’s Dibrugarh by a 27-member team of Punjab Police and kept in Dibrugarh Central Jail.
