October 18, 2023: Randhir Jaiswal, India’s current consul general in New York will be the next spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs. He will succeed the current spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi.

Arindam Bagchi has been appointed India’s permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) to Geneva.

As per sources, Randhir Jaiswal has served in Portugal, Cuba, South Africa and India’s permanent mission to the UN in New York. He has also served in the external affairs ministry as the Deputy Secretary, looking after relations with the US.
