April 6, 2024: A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was attacked at the Bhupatinagar area in West Bengal's East Midnapore District on Saturday morning when the officials reached there to investigate at Trinamool Congress leader's house in connection with the 2022 blast case.

The 2022 Bhupatinagar blast took place in Nairabila village, killing Trinamool booth president Rajkumar Manna, his brother Devkumar Manna and Biswajit Gayen. While the police initially launched an investigation into the case, the NIA took over the probe following court orders.

When two TMC members were picked up for questioning, locals pelted bricks and stones at the vehicle, leaving one official injured.

As per sources, the NIA had summoned two residents, Balai Maiti and Manobrata Jana, in connection with the case. After they skipped the summons, they picked them up on Saturday for questioning.

Last month, the NIA summoned around eight TMC leaders for questioning in connection with the blast.
