March 21, 2024: A 20-Year-Old NEET aspirant from Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, studying in Kota, allegedly faked her own kidnap to extract money from her parents to get settle down in abroad with her boyfriend.



According to the girl’s father Raghuveer Dhakad, he received a photo on his phone where she was seen tied with ropes along with ransom demand of Rs 30 lakh for her release. Later, he registered a complaint at the nearby police station.



Based on the complaint, police launched a probe into the incident. During probe, the actual reason came to light that the girl had intentionally sent the ‘kidnapped’ pictures to her father to demand the ransom money. Police however managed to nab their friend whose apartment was used to take the ‘kidnapping’ photos.

Police officials said that the girl had gone to Kota with her mother on August 3, 2023 and stayed there for two to three days in a hostel and then had come to Indore to join her friends. But she didn’t inform her mother about her move. Since then, she was staying at a hostel in Bhanwarkuan area.

Therefore, police probe is still underway and Kota SP has announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for anyone who gives information about the girl.
