Major Anti-Terror Operation in Jammu and Kashmir Dismantles New Militant Outfit

October 22, 2024: In a significant operation, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have dismantled a newly formed militant outfit believed to be affiliated with the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The Counter-Intelligence Wing (CIK) conducted extensive raids across several districts, including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama.

The newly identified group, named 'Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim' (TLM), is reportedly being managed by a Pakistani terrorist handler known as 'Baba Hamas.' Ongoing operations aim to gather further intelligence and apprehend remaining members.

This crackdown follows a violent incident in Ganderbal, where the Resistance Front (TRF), another LeT affiliate, claimed responsibility for an attack that resulted in the deaths of a doctor and six migrant workers. Security forces have identified Sheikh Sajjad Gul, the TRF chief from Srinagar, as the mastermind behind the attack. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has placed a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to his arrest.

In a related development, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police recently apprehended two terrorists involved in multiple attacks in the region during a joint operation in Surankote, Poonch. They have been identified as Abdul Aziz and Manwar Hussain.
