During these nine days of Navratri, nine forms of Goddess Durga will be worshipped by Hindu devotees

April 8, 2024: Chaitra Navratri, a nine-day Hindu festival, which is also known as Vasanta Navratri will begin on the first day of the Hindu Luni-Solar calendar.



This year, the festival will start on April 9 and end on April 17. During these nine days of Navratri, nine forms of Goddess Durga will be worshipped by Hindu devotees.



The schedules for these nine days of Chaitra Navratri puja are:




  1. April 9 (Tuesday): Ghatasthapana, Maa Shailputri Puja

  2. April 10 (Wednesday): Maa Brahmacharini Puja

  3. April 11 (Thursday): Maa Chandraghanta Puja, Gauri Puja

  4. April 12 (Friday): Maa Kushmanda Puja, Vinayaka Chaturthi

  5. April 13 (Saturday): Mata Skanda Puja, Naag Puja

  6. April 14 (Sunday): Maa Katyayani Puja

  7. April 15 (Monday): Maha Saptami, Maa Kaalratri Puja

  8. April 16 (Tuesday): Durga Ashtami, Maa Mahagauri Puja

  9. April 17 (Wednesday): Rama Navami, Navratri Paran



 



Ghatasthapana marks the beginning of nine-day celebration. According to Hindu texts, Ghatasthapana is an invocation of Goddess Shakti, and doing it at the wrong time may have unfavorable effects. On this day, Wearing red colour of Chunri fills the person with vigour and vitality and symbolises passion and love.
