August 29, 2023: The centre on Tuesday announced that the LPG domestic gas cylinder prices will be cut by Rs 200 per cylinder.

Taking to X, Union Minister Anurag Thakur informed, "PM Modi has decided Rs 200 reduction in the price of domestic LPG cylinders, for all users...this is a gift from PM Narendra Modi, to the women of the country, during the occasion of Raksha Bandhan".

He also added, "75 lakhs new gas connections will be given under the 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana'...'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana' beneficiaries are already getting Rs 200 subsidy...but they will also be benefitted from the decrease in the rate, that means the rate reduction for the 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana' beneficiaries will be Rs 400 per cylinder...".
