Bomb Threats Target Hotels in Rajkot Amidst Festive Season

October 26, 2024: In a troubling development, at least 10 hotels in Rajkot, including prominent five-star establishments, received bomb threats via email on Saturday. The targeted hotels include well-known names such as Imperial Palace, Sayaji Hotel, Seasons Hotel, and Grand Regency, raising alarm in the region, especially as the festive season approaches.

The alarming email, which warned of imminent bomb explosions and claimed that "many innocent lives will be lost today," has led Rajkot Police to initiate a comprehensive investigation. Authorities are conducting rigorous security checks at the affected hotels to ensure the safety of guests and staff.

The timing of these threats is particularly concerning given the ongoing festive celebrations in the area, prompting heightened anxiety among residents and visitors alike.

This incident follows a wave of similar threats targeting the aviation sector, with Indian airlines such as Air India, IndiGo, and Vistara reporting over 250 bomb threats in just the past ten days. Earlier today, 27 flights from these airlines received bomb threats, prompting intensified security measures at airports nationwide.

On October 24, airports in Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, and Jharsuguda also received bomb threats concerning various flights, which were later determined to be hoaxes. However, the frequency of these threats has raised serious concerns about public safety.
