Bomb Threat at Tirupati's Iskcon Temple Triggers Security Alert

October 28, 2024: The Iskcon temple in Tirupati was placed on high alert on Sunday after receiving an email bomb threat claiming that "Pakistan's ISI-related terrorists would blow up the temple." In response, security measures were significantly heightened, and a thorough search operation was launched involving the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and a specialized dog squad.

Fortunately, following extensive searches of the temple grounds, no explosives or suspicious items were discovered. Authorities have since initiated an investigation into the source of the threat.

This incident follows a series of similar hoax bomb threats in Tirupati, including threats made against two well-known hotels the previous day. In those cases, police conducted comprehensive searches with BDS and sniffer dogs, ultimately determining that the threats were unfounded.

The recent email threat also referenced Jaffer Sadiq, an alleged kingpin of a drug trafficking network, who was recently arrested in Tamil Nadu by the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Enforcement Directorate.

In a worrying trend, three other hotels in Tirupati have previously received bomb threats that were also proven to be hoaxes after thorough security checks.
