BJP to Form New Government in Haryana with Oath-Taking Ceremony on October 17, PM Modi to Attend

October 12, 2024: The newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Haryana is set to take oath on October 17 in a grand ceremony at the Dusshera ground in Panchkula. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to grace the event, alongside senior BJP leaders and chief ministers from various states.

The ceremony will commence at 10 AM, marking a significant moment for the BJP as it celebrates a remarkable victory in the recent assembly elections, securing its highest-ever tally of 48 seats—11 more than the Congress party.

While the BJP has yet to formally announce its Chief Ministerial candidate, sources indicate that Nayab Singh Saini, who took over the reins from Manohar Lal Khattar in March, is likely to continue in the role. Saini has played a pivotal role in the party's success, contributing to the victory against the backdrop of a decade-long anti-incumbency trend and previous exit poll predictions favoring the opposition Congress.

The BJP's win has left its competitors reeling; the Janta Jannayak Party (JJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faced significant losses, while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) managed to secure only two seats.
