November 19, 2023: Australia beat India by six wickets in the ICC World Cup Finals. For the sixth time, Australia lifted the trophy after 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015.



The final match of the ICC World Cup was held at Narendra Modi Stadium (the largest stadium in the world) in Ahmedabad.



India had set a target of 240/10 to chase the Aussies, which the Aussies were able to beat effortlessly thanks to the winning partnership of Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne.



Taking to X, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi congratulated the Aussies, “Congratulations to Australia on a magnificent World Cup victory! Theirs was a commendable performance through the tournament, culminating in a splendid triumph. Compliments to Travis Head for his remarkable game today”.





On the other hand, PM Modi also motivated Team India and said, “Dear Team India, Your talent and determination through the World Cup was noteworthy. You've played with great spirit and brought immense pride to the nation. We stand with you today and always.”
