September 1, 2023: Rajinikanth became the highest-paid actor in India after the grand success of his movie ‘Jailer’ which crossed over Rs 100 crore globally.

Kalanithi Maran, the Sun Group founder and Chairman, on Thursday handed over a cheque to the actor and gifted a brand new BMW X7, priced around Rs 1.25 crore following the movie’s performance at the box office.

According to sources, Rajinikanth was given a choice between the BMW i7 and the BMW X7.

The noted film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan said that Rajinikanth had been already paid a remuneration of Rs 110 crore for the movie. After earning a total of Rs 210 crore for 'Jailer', he became the highest-paid actor.
