September 2, 2023: Actor R Madhavan became the new president of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). He is also the chairman of the governing council.



Taking to X, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, “Heartiest congratulations to @ActorMadhavanji on being nominated as President of @FTIIOfficial and Chairman of the governing council.”





Ranganathan Madhavan is an Indian actor, writer, director, and producer who appears mostly in Tamil and Hindi movies. He won several awards including one National Film Award, four Filmfare Awards South and one Tamil Nadu State Film Award.
