May 6, 2021: Guwahati has now become a hotspot of coronavirus in the state.
The Kamrup (M) district administration has declared 7 wards as containment zones. The wards that have been declared as containment zones are - 3, 8, 14, 16, 28, 29 and 31.
The decision was announced by the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M), Biswajit Pegu on Wednesday.

The maximum COVID-19 cases has been registered from Beltola, Basistha, Fatashil Ambari, Barshapara, Dhirenpara, Kumarpara, AT Road, Machkhowa, Bhootnath, Khanapara, Panjabari, Hatigaon, Ulubari, Rehabari, DGP Complex, Bilpara, Solapara, Pandu, Borsajai, Maligaon, and Hatigaon Chariali the DC said.

The state also registered 4,826 new COVID-19 cases, which took the tally to 2,72,751 in last 24 hours.
