May 6, 2023: In a recent development, Dr. Waliul Islam and the caretaker Lakhi Roy who were alleged in child harassment case in Guwahati, Assam have been arrested by the police on Saturday based on the FIR filed by child rights body.

Reportedly, Dr. Waliul Islam along with his wife Dr. Sangeeta Dutta allegedly tied their adopted daughter with a rope and left to suffer scorching heat on their terrace.

The incident came to light when a child right activist informed about the matter on the Facebook. Later, the child was rescued by the Child Protection Commission on Friday.

According to the sources, Waliul and Lakhi will be produced before the court today whereas Dr. Sangeeta Dutta is still on the run.
