April 22, 2022: The voting for Guwahati Municipal Corporation elections has begun today (April 22).

The Voting is being held for 57 of the 60 wards of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation in the 781 polling stations.

This includes the 80 all women polling stations have been set up. Of the 60 wards, 50% are reserved for women candidates.  The Voting will go on till 4.30 PM.

There are 197 candidates in the fray. BJP candidates have won from three wards – Wards 5, 6 and 22, unopposed.

Counting of votes will take place on April 24.
