November 22, 2023: Two Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) officers were arrested in Assam on Tuesday night by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for using unfair means to secure their jobs.



Reportedly, the arrested persons have been identified as Shah Jahan Sarkar and Aishwarya Jeevan Baruah. The officers were appointed during the tenure of Former APSC Chairman Rakesh Pal. They will be produced before a court today.



As per sources, around 34 officers’s names were mentioned in the report of Justice (retd) Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission. Therefore, 32 officers are still under investigation.
