March 6, 2025: In a shocking incident, a math teacher accused of raping a student has been arrested after being on the run for four months. The accused, identified as Gun Gobinda Deka, was apprehended by Barama Police following an intensive search operation in Guwahati, where he had been hiding.  

According to reports, the crime took place four months ago, after which the accused went into hiding to evade arrest. The victim’s mother had filed a case against Deka under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, leading to a police investigation.  

Following his arrest, authorities have launched a thorough probe into the matter. Further legal proceedings are underway as the police continue to gather evidence against the accused.
