April 12, 2024: Sensation prevailed after an incident of harassment came to light in Baksa, Assam on Friday. A 12-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped and harassed by a man for several times in the Dumuni area.

Reportedly, the victim identified as Piyush Khapua is a worker of Dumuni Tea Estate.

The incident came to light when the victim described the whole incident to her parents. Following this, the family lodged a complaint against the accused at the Muslimpur police station. Later, police arrested the accused Pijush under POCSO Act.

As per sources, the victim is five months pregnant after being threatened by the assailant for a long time. She is currently admitted at the Muslimpur Civil Hospital and undergoing treatment.

Therefore, the victim's family is demanding strict action against the accused and waiting for justice.
