July 19, 2022: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked every resident of Assam to hoist the national flag in their houses from August 13-15 and prove that they are Indians.

Speaking at an event in Udalguri in Assam, the CM said, “applying in NRC office and trying to prove that you are an Indian citizen is not enough. You have to hoist the tricolour in your homes to prove that you are a true child of Mother India”.

The CM said that the national flag will be available at all ration shops for Rs 16 per flag. He has asked every one across the state to buy the flags and unfurl the tricolour from August 13-15 as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Har Ghar Tiranga (tri-colour in every home) programme.
