June 22, 2023: The flood situation in Assam continues to be grim on Thursday as about 45,000 people, 108 villages are currently underwater.

Many villagers have been forced to leave their places after the flood waters entered their houses. Several flood-affected victims are bound to take shelter on roads, and highlands by making makeshift tents.

However, no casualties have been reported due to flood in the state so far.

According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the water levels of several rivers are flowing above the danger level mark following the heavy rainfall in the state, other neighbouring states and the country Bhutan.

Reportedly, several teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are working on the affected areas to rescue the victims.
