September 19, 2023: Five people of a family including a child were admitted to a hospital for food poisoning after consuming some foods in Nagaon, Assam on Tuesday. The incident took place at the Ramanipathar area.

Reportedly, it is suspected that some miscreants have allegedly added some poisonous substances to the food of the family following which they consumed and fell sick.

The victims have been identified as Mamtaz Begum, Abdul Barek, Raju Ahmed, Jabin Akhtar and Abdul Barek.

Out of the five victims, four people were admitted to a nearby hospital in critical condition for their treatment and Abdul Barek was shifted to Nagaon Hospital.

Locals staged protests demanding to arrest the miscreants and to take strict actions against them.
