June 5, 2023: The Dibrugarh district administration on Monday issued an order and rescheduled the classes’ timing due to heat wave in Assam.
The changes have been made immediately after the Department of School Education had instructed all the District Commissioners to advance the school timings due to the continuous rise of Mercury level and scorching heat.
Reportedly, the timings will remain same for both Govt Provincialized and Private Schools till further notice.
Taking to Twitter, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on June 3rd informed, "Due to the current heat wave, @SchoolEdnAssam has instructed all DCs to advance school hours to 7:30 am, if required to do so depending upon the district’s situation. @himantabiswa @CMOfficeAssam".
