Guwahati: An Assam police team seized cannabis worth Rs 30 lakh in Cachar district and arrested three suspected drug peddlers in connection with the case.



The police said tat based on inputs, they launched an operation at Krishnapur Part II under the jurisdiction of Silchar police station. During the operation, they succeeded in intercepting a suspected e-rickshaw.



Three individuals were questioned based on suspicion and were found in possession of the suspected cannabis.



All of them were immedaitely arrested and further investigation has been initated.



In totel, the police seized 38kg of cannabies which is estimated to be worth Rs 30 lakh in the grey market.



Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the police for their achievement, stating "Great job, @assampolice!" on his official X handle.



This seizure comes on the heels of another major bust in Cachar, where the Assam police seized 98,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 30 crore and suspected heroin in Dhubri in two separate operations. Two individuals were arrested in connection with this case.



The Cachar police conducted a successful anti-narcotics operation in Chandrapur Part II, Kakmara, under Lakhipur Police Station, leading to the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of Yaba tablets, along with Rs 3.5 lakh in cash.
