Guwahati: A bag-snatching incident occurred in Katigorah of Cachar, Assam leaving a local businessman seriously injured.

The incident took place at Katirail in Katigorah, where two thieves in a car snatched a money-filled bag from businessman Jaideep Dev.

According to eyewitnesses, the thieves attacked Dev when he attempted to stop them, and then fled towards Meghalaya in their vehicle.

The injured businessman was rescued by locals and rushed to Silchar Medical College for treatment.

The stolen bag contained important documents and a significant amount of cash, approximately Rs 60,000.

Police have begun an investigation in this regard.

The police are currently checking for CCTV footage in and around the area.
