Guwahati: A road accident occurred at Kalatali in Chhaygaon, Kamrup of Assam, resulting in the death of an 8-year-old boy.

The victim, Azadul Haque, a resident of Chaudharypam village, was run over by a speeding passenger bus while walking as a pedestrian.

The bus bearing registration AS14C-7754 was traveling from Guwahati to Sontali when the accident took place.

The incident sparked outrage, with an agitated crowd vandalizing the bus and creating a tense situation at the spot.

Following reports of violence, police personnel arrived at the scene and controlled the situation.

Further investigation regarding the accident is being carried out.
