December 8, 2023: In a recent development, another officer named Wahida Begum, the Superintendent of Taxes, Nagaon Division has been arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) team in Diphu, Assam on Friday in connection with the APSC ‘cash-for-job’ scam.

A few days ago, two Assam Civil Services (ACS) officers were arrested in connection with the scam. The arrested officers were identified as Shah Jahan Sarkar and Aishwarya Jeevan Baruah. The officers were appointed during the tenure of Former APSC Chairman Rakesh Pal.

As per sources, around 34 officers’s names were mentioned in the report of Justice (retd) Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission.
