March 29, 2024: Assam Police and a forest department on Friday rescued around 48 smuggled Indonesian birds and animals in Hailakandi.



Reportedly, the rescued birds and animals include 40 Red and Blue Lories, 5 Black Lori birds, one Babirusa Swine and two Hornbills.

The birds were recovered from a luxury vehicle which was heading towards Hailakandi from Mizoram. Two persons including the driver have also been detained by the Bilaipur Police.
