September 3, 2020: The B.Ed students under the Gauhati University on Thursday sat on protest at the university campus demanding holding of their final examinations in this month.

As the government has announced that the appointment process for TET teachers will be started from this month, the students feared that they will not be able to apply for the same despite TET clearance as their B.Ed result will not be declared by that time.

The students alleged that while they have cleared the TET examination, their B.Ed final examination is still put on hold by the Gauhati University due to the Covid-19 situation.

As per the government rule, only TET qualified candidates having B.Ed degree are eligible for apply.

Therefore, the students demanded that the university should hold their final examination and also declare the results within this month so that they will not miss the opportunity to apply.
