August 9, 2020: With 2218 new cases detected in last 24 hours, COVID-19 cases in Assam have risen to 57714 on Saturday.
Taking to Twitter Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed, “Alert ~ 2218 COVID cases detected out of 54845 tests in last 24 hrs.
We have managed to maintain low positivity rate (4.04%)
Kamrup (M)- 299, Cachar- 165, Nagaon- 150, Dibrugarh- 142
Total cases 57714
Recovered 38809
Active cases 18762
Deaths 140

On the other hand out of this 16980 are active cases whereas 1782 patients have recovered in last 24 hours pushing total recovered numbers to 40591.
It may be added that eight more patients have succumbed to the infection on Saturday, taking total deaths cases to 140 in the state.
