November 13, 2022: International Cricket Council (ICC) has underlined its commitment to seeing the T20 World Cup final through by securing an extension to MCG’s permissible operation hours for Sunday’s clash between England and Pakistan allowing organisers to further extend the playing period.



As a result of extra time the tournament organisers were able to add, play will now take place at MCG on Sunday night with a total of 90 minutes additional time available in case the weather interrupts.



This means that more time will be needed on Sunday so that the play can go on until midnight, Local time.



The organisers will attempt to finish the match on Sunday, the option to conclude it on Monday reserve day (November 14 at 3:00 PM AEDT) is still open to the event organisers.



The action shall resume at the spot where the last ball was played if the match needs to be finished on Monday, but only if cannot be finished on Sunday.

The empires must immediately cease play or refuse to start or resume it if they both decide that the field, weather, lighting or any scenario is unacceptable.



ICC match referee Ranjan Madugalle said it is up to the umpires to decide whether the situation is bad enough to call for such actions.



The T20 World Cup final could be plagued by rain with significant chances of shower on November 13 in Melbourne Cricket ground spoiling a clash awaited by fans around the globe.



The Bureau of Meteorology predicted “Cloudy, very high (near 100%) chances of shower. The chances of thunderstorm possibly severe. Light wind becoming North to North-easterly 15km/hr to 25km/hr during the morning then tending North to North-westerly during the day.”



England will face Pakistan in the final of T20 world cup at historic Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia.
