April 12, 2024: The Ministry of External Affairs of India issued a travel advisory for its citizens on Friday, advising them not to travel to Iran and Israel till any further notice due to the tension erupted in the region.

The travel advisory stated, "All those who are currently residing in Iran or Israel are requested to get in touch with Indian Embassies there and register themselves. They are also requested to observe utmost precautions about their safety and restrict their movements to the minimum”.

Several other countries have also issued similar travel advisories for their citizens over the last 24 hours.

As per sources, the advisory was issued against the backdrop of a growing number of reports about an Iranian attack on Israel or Israeli interests in retaliation for the Israeli air strike on an Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria that killed seven people, including three generals.
