January 23, 2025 - A 45-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife and tried to dispose of her body by chopping it into pieces and boiling them in a pressure cooker. The accused, Guru Murthy, a former soldier working as a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), reportedly confessed to the crime during police questioning.
The victim, Venkata Madhavi, 35, was reported missing by her family on January 16. When her family filed a complaint, Guru Murthy accompanied them to the police station. However, his behavior raised suspicions, and upon interrogation, he detailed the horrifying sequence of events.
Police Inspector Nagaraju stated, The parents had lodged a missing complaint with us. The husband also came with them. We grew suspicious and questioned him. He confessed to this crime.
According to the alleged confession, Guru Murthy chopped up his wife's body in the bathroom and boiled the remains in a pressure cooker to separate the flesh and bones. He claimed to have ground the bones, boiled them multiple times over three days, and then dumped the remains into a lake. The police are currently verifying these claims.
The couple, who have two children, reportedly had frequent arguments. The motive behind the alleged murder remains unclear, and further investigation is underway. This disturbing case has left the local community in shock, as authorities continue to piece together the details of the crime.
