January 10, 2025: A chilling incident has unfolded in Kandigram, Katigorah, where a 19-year-old girl was allegedly poisoned to death by her boyfriend and subjected to rape and assault. The victim's family has filed a case against eight people, including her boyfriend, Saiful Uddin, accusing them of rape, murder, and physical assault.

The victim, who was reportedly in a relationship with Saiful Uddin of Tintikari village, was lured by him under the pretext of marriage. On Saturday, Saiful allegedly took her to his home, where he is accused of raping her. According to the victim's family, Saiful and his family members brutally assaulted her and forced her to consume poison.

In critical condition, the victim was initially rushed to Katigorah Model Hospital by her family. However, Saiful and his family fled the hospital upon their arrival. The victim was then transferred to Silchar Medical College for advanced treatment but tragically succumbed to her injuries on Monday.

The victim's family lodged a formal complaint at Katigorah police station, naming Saiful Uddin and seven others as the accused. Despite the severity of the allegations, no arrests have been made so far. Police have initiated an investigation into the case, which has sent shockwaves across the region.
