July 1, 2021:  Assam’s COVID-19 tally rose to 5, 11,153 on Thursday as 2,669 people tested positive for the infection while 38 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,577, the National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin said.

Assam currently has 24,390 active COVID-19 cases.

As many as 3,329 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection during the day and a total of 4,80,839 people have recovered from the disease so far.

Among the districts, Golaghat reported the maximum number of cases at 335, followed by Jorhat with 192 cases, Sonitpur with 191 cases; Lakhimpur recorded 181 cases as per data shared by the National Health Mission, Assam on Thursday.

Jorhat recorded the highest number of deaths at 9, followed by 4 deaths each in Morigaon and Sivasagar districts, 3deaths each from Sonitpur and Tinsukia districts.

The positivity rate for the day was 1.94 % per cent and the current death rate is 0.89 per cent.
