January 17, 2024: Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa has become India's top-ranked men's chess player after defeating World Champion Ding Liren in the Tata Steel Masters tournament on Tuesday.

The victory over the world champion from China took Praggnanandhaa by surprise as he was not expecting the former to go down so easily.

Taking to Twitter, Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, praises Praggnanandhaa on becoming the new no.1 Indian chess player.
