Two Suspects Detained in Connection with Saif Ali Khan’s Stabbing Incident

January 18, 2025: Two suspects have been detained in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in connection with the stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, which occurred at his Bandra residence in the early hours of January 16. The actor, who sustained multiple injuries, including stab wounds to his neck and near the spine, underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital and is now recovering.

The first suspect was apprehended in Madhya Pradesh after Mumbai Police, acting on leads, coordinated with local authorities. Meanwhile, the second suspect, identified as Akash, was intercepted aboard the Gyaneshwari Express train in Chhattisgarh's Durg district. Railway Police detained him based on a photo and location details shared by Mumbai Police. According to sources, his appearance matches the description of the person involved in the attack. A team from Mumbai is set to reach Chhattisgarh to further interrogate the suspect and confirm his involvement.

The investigation has revealed that the attacker entered the room of Saif Ali Khan’s younger son, Jehangir, and demanded ₹1 crore as ransom. Interestingly, despite valuables, including jewellery, being openly displayed in the room, the intruder did not attempt to steal them. Saif’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, reported that the attacker grew aggressive during the confrontation but left without taking any belongings.

The assailant, who remains at large, was captured on CCTV footage shortly after the attack, buying headphones at a shop in Dadar. Police suspect he used local trains to navigate the city or flee to another location. Teams are currently reviewing footage from various railway stations to track his movements.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the film fraternity and raised concerns about security in high-profile residential areas. With the detention of two suspects and investigations intensifying, authorities are hopeful of making further breakthroughs in the case.
