May 18, 2022: Two people have died in Bengaluru following the southwest monsoon-triggered thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain. Several parts of the city are facing water-logging and power failure. The weather department has issued an orange alert in many parts of rural and urban Bengaluru predicting heavy rain for the next 4-5 days.

The two people killed in the rain worked as labourers in Ullal upanagar. The bodies of the two men - one from Bihar and another from Uttar Pradesh - were found at a pipeline work site, officials said.
